Rory is a young, healthy, and active mixed-breed herding dog who will thrive in an active home. His adopters should be prepared to provide both the physical exercise he needs and plenty of mental stimulation. Rory is a dog who needs a “job” to keep his mind engaged! Once he has gained confidence in new environments, we believe he would excel in dog sports and activities such as scent work, herding, and agility.
Rory can be reserved and shy around new or unfamiliar people, but he generally warms up within 5–10 minutes. He can also feel uncertain in unfamiliar environments, so he will benefit from patient, gradual introductions to new places and experiences. Rory currently needs support becoming more comfortable with alone time, which may be related to his recent life transition.
Rory is happiest when he has the opportunity to run freely and play with other dogs at the dog park. He has also lived with several cats and has shown that he is comfortable sharing his home with them, typically choosing to ignore them.
