Riley is a five year old rough-coated sable mahogany collie. He is a strong-minded intelligent dog who gets along with most dogs, but does not do well with dogs that show intent to challenge (such as unneutered or alpha males). For this reason, we are seeking an adopter who can provide clear leadership and structure, helping him to feel secure and understand that his handler has everything under control.

In his foster home he has been getting along well with all the other dogs and has shown that he thrives in a calm, balanced environment. We believe he would do well in a home with another dog who is easygoing and non confrontational. He is a quiet dog who rarely barks and is good with dog-savvy cats. He is crate trained and sees his crate as a safe and comforting space.

Riley will need a patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time and physical space to gradually be introduced to new people and environments.
