Since 1986, Okanagan Collie Rescue (OCR) has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for castaway collies by providing rescue, foster home, veterinary attention, training, rehabilitation, and eventual placement primarily in the areas of BC, Alberta and the northwest United States.  We are a group of volunteers organized as a registered non-profit society and frequently operate in conjunction with other rescue groups across North America.  On average, we place over 30 dogs each year.  This website is our tool to communicate with our adopters, prospective adopters and our supporters.
The goal of our site is to provide information for collie lovers, state our policies, and present our ever-changing list of rescued collies seeking their 'forever' homes.  We also want to provide a place to record some of the beautiful stories of those dogs who have passed through our hands, as well as remembering those who have passed on.
OCR is funded entirely by donation and operated by volunteers.  We are always welcoming to people who wish to help, whether it be as financial supporters, providers of foster home care, or contributors to the many other functions that are essential to achieving our goals (see "How You Can Help")
